The Strangers (2008)

While staying at the isolated summer home, a young couple, Kristen McKay and James Hoyt, are terrorized by three masked individuals. Much of the film revolves around the strangers first cutting off their means of communication (such as destroying and stealing the phones in the house) and then lowering any other chances of escape (such as destroying James’ car and then setting Mike’s car on fire). After this is done, the strangers then continue to carry out their plan of murdering the couple, which is revealed when the doll-faced masked stranger says to Kristen, “You’re gonna die here”. The couple is soon overpowered by the sheer number and terrorizing antics of the strangers and then knocked unconscious and tied up. The shades are opened to show that morning has come, and the three strangers begin taking off their masks. Although their faces are never fully revealed to the audience, removing their masks shows that they will soon carry out their plans to kill the couple. The male stranger then picks up a chefs knife and begins stabbing James slowly and repeatedly, then hands the knife to another stranger who then stabs James until the third stranger takes the knife and begins stabbing Kristen. The three strangers are then seen driving away in a pick-up truck, passing by two young, Christian boys. One proclaims, “Next time, it will be easier.” Although it is presumed that the main characters have been killed, the last scene shows the couple untied and James dead, with Kristen presumed dead. The two boys from earlier explore the house, eventually finding the couple. One boy touches Kristen’s face and she begins screaming wildly.

The Mirrors (2008)

The movie starts with a man running away from something. He then runs into a locker room, where all of the lockers open to show his reflection. He desperately apologizes to his reflection for running away in hopes of forgiveness and begins fervently cleaning the mirrors. To his horror, the mirror begins to crack and a piece falls off. Trying to redeem himself, he picks up the shard with the intention of putting it back on the mirror. However, his reflection slowly slashes his own throat, and the man dies, experiencing the effects of his throat being slashed despite not doing it himself.

Meanwhile, sometime later, Ben Carson (Kiefer Sutherland), a former undercover detective who was suspended after shooting another officer, is forced to take a night time security job at a department store that was gutted by a fire. The department store used to be a psychiatric hospital that experimented in treating schizophrenia. In 1952, a mass killing took place and the hospital was closed. It was later reopened as a luxury department store, the Mayflower. Carson comments on the pristine mirrors throughout the store, and the guard comments that the man Carson is replacing was obsessed with cleaning them.

Carson’s round begins normally, though on his first night he sees a door open in a mirror’s reflection while it is actually closed. After investigating, he finds nothing. Following nights expose Carson to more intense visions, which he initially shrugs off as hallucinations (due to a strong drug he started taking as a result of the trauma of shooting another officer). He notices handprints on the mirror. Curious, he touches them, causing the mirror to break and injure his hand. Carson further hallucinates being set on fire, as well as seeing victims in various parts of the store who were burned to death. Afterwards, he finds the wallet of Gary Lewis (the man who dies at the beginning of the film), the night watchman he is replacing. The only piece of information is a note that says “Esseker.” Ben then receives a package from Gary Lewis that was sent several days before his death. The package contains newspaper clippings about the fire and other crimes. The man convicted of burning the Mayflower was also convicted of killing his wife and children.

The Happening (2008)

The film opens in New York’s Central Park, where people inexplicably begin to commit suicide en masse. Three blocks away, construction workers are shown throwing themselves off buildings. The phenomena then appears in Philadelphia’s Rittenhouse Square, with a string of people all killing themselves with a police officer’s gun.

The protagonist, science teacher Elliot Moore (Mark Wahlberg) in Philadelphia, is in the middle of class when the principal interrupts and ends class early due to the reports of an apparent bioterrorist attack on New York. Elliot and his wife, Alma Moore (Zooey Deschanel), join Elliot’s best friend and fellow teacher Julian (John Leguizamo) and his eight-year-old daughter Jess (Ashlyn Sanchez) as they decide to evacuate the city. The train they are taking soon stops at a small station in western Pennsylvania and train services are discontinued after the crew loses contact with “everyone.” News begins to come through televisions and cell phones as the pandemic is shown spreading across the northeastern United States, with its victims all showing the same symptoms of suddenly ceasing all activity, a loss of speech and physical disorientation, and a final calm and calculated act of suicide (the film has people jumping from buildings, shooting or hanging or cutting themselves, throwing themselves into barbed wire, offering themselves to lions, driving vehicles off roads, and lying in front of a grass mower). The initial assumption of terrorism is abandoned as the scale and concentration begins to outpace the means of any terrorist group.

As a teenager, David Rice (Max Thieriot) lives with his abusive father William (Michael Rooker), after his mother, Mary (Diane Lane), left when David was only five. He has no friends in school except for Millie (AnnaSophia Robb), whom he has a crush on. When a prank goes wrong and David’s life is threatened he discovers he can “Jump” – teleport to anywhere on the planet which he’s previously visited or visualized from a photograph. Using his ability he leaves his childhood home behind and sets himself up in New York City, and steals money from a local bank after seeing the inside of the vault and using it as a Jump point. Over the course of the next 8 years, David (Hayden Christensen) lives life to excess, Jumping all across the world and living a consequence free life.

This all changes when he meets Roland Cox (Samuel L. Jackson), part of a shadowy organization that has been trying to track David down. Roland uses a variety of advanced technologies to inhibit David’s ability to Jump while trying to kill him, but David manages to escape. He inadvertently Jumps home and has a brief encounter with his father, before tracking down Millie (Rachel Bilson) where she works, at a local bar. To impress Millie, he uses his considerable wealth to fly her to Rome for a holiday.

The film opens with a montage shows a group of bald, blue-eyed boys receiving tattoos of bar codes and then shows them being instructed in the use of firearms and martial arts.

Interpol agent Mike Whittier discovers Agent 47 in his study, where the two talk briefly. The scene flashes back 3 months, as 47 is completing a hit in St. Petersburg, Russia. He receives a communication from his Organization contact, Diana, and is told he is to kill his next target, Russian President Mikhail Belicoff, publicly.

Agent 47 succeeds in killing Belicoff using a sniper rifle to achieve a head shot from over 4 km away. However, when 47 returns to his hotel room, he’s told there’s a witness–Nika Boronina–he has to kill. Confronting Nika on a street, he doesn’t kill her as he realizes she’s never seen him before. Additionally, Belicoff’s death was covered up, being portrayed in the media as a grazing wound.

As man dominated the world without doubt, much in the way microorganisms “swarm in a drop of water,” these beings have plotted to take it from him.The action opens with Brooklyn dock worker Ray Ferrier finishing the third shift in the morning. His young daughter Rachel and teenage son Robbie are staying with him at his house in Bayonne, New Jersey, while his ex-wife Mary Anne and her new husband Tim visit her parents in Boston for the weekend.Later on that day, a strange wall cloud arrives unleashing EMP lightning repeatedly in the same spot about half a mile from Rays house. The lightning disables all the working electrics in the area consequently leaving all the residents of the town stranded in the streets. The lightning makes a mysteriously cold hole from which a large tripod machine emerges and begins vaporizing human beings into dust in its path. Witnessing, and barely escaping the horror, first-hand, Ray takes his kids and steals the only operational vehicle in town, due to advice of changing the solenoid in the car.

A very large anaconda is captured from the Amazon River basin and is being kept in a scientific lab. Certain drugs along with a serum was added to it so as to test why such a serum only has its effect on snakes. Murdoch, a well-known industrialist is paying for this research. One day the anaconda escapes from the lab and kills several scientists and assistants. A team of animal hunters led by Hammet, a well-known snake catcher, along with Dr. Haze from the lab lead their way to the forest to find this anaconda which has become very dangerous due to the drugs and serum. After sometime, Dr. Haze tells the hunters that this anaconda is pregnant. All the hunters in the team are killed except for Hamet and Dr. Haze. Haze comes to realize that Hammet works for Murdoch and wants the anaconda for money. Inside an old office, the anaconda gives birth to many babies. Haze, knowing about Hammet, leaves him in the building with all the snakes and a bomb which soon explodes. Haze leaves with a hope that she killed all the snakes. But one snake survives and is taken to Murdoch by one of his men.

The Saw

Saw is a 2004 horror film, and the first installment of the Saw film series. It was directed by James Wan and co-written by Wan and Leigh Whannell. The movie took only 18 days to film and was first shown at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2004 and saw an international release later that year on October 29. The film is #3 on Bravo’s Even Scarier Movie Moments. The film spawned into several sequels, Saw II and Saw III, which were released on October 28, 2005 and October 27, 2006 respectively.

The film begins with photographer Adam Faulkner (Leigh Whannell) waking up in a bathtub filled with water. In his instinctive flailing, his foot catches and removes its plug; as the water drains a glowing blue object can be briefly seen to be washed away with it. After a few cries for help it is revealed that he is not, in fact, alone. Surgeon Dr. Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes) is on the other side of the same room, and soon finds the switch to turn on the lights.

Bangkok Dangerous (2008)

Hitman Joe (Nicolas Cage) goes to Bangkok on an assignment to kill four people. He hires pickpocket Kong (Shahkrit Yamnarm) as his assistant and meets a beautiful deaf-mute girl along the way.

Joe is given the contract by Bangkok gangsters who communicate with Joe through Kong and a dancer who becomes romantically involved with Kong.

Joe breaks his own rule of not getting involved with people on his missions and takes Kong under his wing because he sees Kong as a younger version of himself. Kong regularly comments on, and asks about Joe’s victims being bad people; this awakens Joe’s conscience. Joe takes out three ‘bad men’ who are, as Joe says to Kong, “bad for somebody”. In the third killing, Kong assists Joe and the kill does not go as planned, with the target nearly getting away before Joe catches him and shoots him after a chase in front of many shocked onlookers.

His fourth target is a politician and therefore a difficult target, resulting in Joe demanding more money. The gangsters intend to kill Joe to avoid the murder being traced back to them. As Joe sets off to the location of the final kill, the gangsters kidnap Kong and the dancer girl and use them to find Joe’s safe house. The target politician is beloved by the people, including Kong. As a result, Joe hesitates when he is about to shoot him, which results in him being spotted by the police who fire at him, leaving the assassination attempt a failure.

Alvin And The Chipmunks

The story begins in a hill backdrop in a snowy forest. Three chipmunks (named Alvin, Simon and Theodore) are singing Daniel Powter’s “Bad Day”. They complain about the food storage when Alvin accidentally empties their stock, because the storage space was full and Alvin accidentally fell into the hole, resulting in all the nuts flying out. Alvin complained about his own tough life and even called their tree a “stupid tree”, then the tree is chopped down (with the unfortunate trio on it). But while chopping, as the tree shakes, the Chipmunks thought that Alvin had made the tree angry. The tree is netted down to a truck and driven to a city in the process of becoming a Christmas tree. Meanwhile, struggling songwriter David “Dave” Seville (Jason Lee) submits a song to JETT records, but is rejected by JETT executive, Ian Hawke, who says he hates Dave’s latest song. On the way out, Dave steals a muffin basket. The Chipmunks and the tree end up in the lobby of JETT records. They escape the tree and go into Dave’s muffin basket. When Dave gets home, he dumps the basket in the garbage can and sets about throwing all his musical writing gear out the door. The Chipmunks set about raiding his cupboards. When Dave discovers them, he sets about splatting them with a burger flipper. Dave is attacked by Alvin and captures him in a hat, but Alvin farts in his face.

During a trip to Afghanistan to demonstrate his company’s new weapon system, Tony Stark (Downey Jr) is attacked and kidnapped by a terrorist group called the Ten Rings that order him to build them a version of Stark Industries’ “Jericho Missile”, an extremely destructive, multi-warhead weapon. Instead, over the next three months with the aid of a fellow captive, Dr. Yinsen (Shaun Toub), he builds a crude but very strong power armor, powered from a miniature arc reactor Stark and Yinsen built to power an electromagnet “pacemaker”, which protects Stark’s heart from the embedded shrapnel in his chest. Dr. Yinsen is killed in the ensuing escape attempt when he stalls the guards to buy Stack, and Stark is able to get away, and is later picked up by the army. Upon returning to the United States, Stark declares that Stark Industries will no longer manufacture weapons, a move which his business partner Obadiah Stane (Bridges) tells him is blocked by the board members shortly after.

During his self-imposed sabbatical from public life, Stark tinkers with the design of his power suit, refining it to be capable of flight, and builds a more powerful and reliable arc reactor, both to power his pacemaker and the suit. During his first public appearance since his kidnapping, he is shown pictures of Stark Industries weapons in the hands of terrorist groups, including the system he refused to build for them. He also discovers that Stane has been “dealing under the table” to both sides in the conflict, as well as being the one to shut Stark out of the board while he recovers. Faced with the realization of what his company has done, Stark dons the power suit and flies to Afghanistan, rescuing a village from terrorists and destroying their weapon stockpiles, accidentally drawing the attention of the United States Air Force and his friend Jim Rhodes (Howard).

The film begins with the armed forces getting a lead on a suspected terrorist. As the man is a recluse, getting a positive ID proves difficult, and the system recommends that the mission be aborted. The fact that he is apparently attending a funeral makes those present all the more nervous. The Secretary of Defense (Michael Chiklis) agrees with the abort recommendation, but the President orders the mission be carried out anyway. This turns into a political backlash when all those killed turn out to be civilians, and retaliatory bombings are carried out in response.

Following the funeral of his successful twin brother, Ethan, Jerry Shaw (Shia LaBeouf) returns home to find his apartment filled with a large amount of weapons, explosives, and forged documents. He receives a phone call from an unknown woman, who explains that the FBI are about to apprehend him in thirty seconds and that he must escape. Not believing her, he is caught by the FBI, led by Agent Thomas Morgan (Billy Bob Thornton) and Air Force Office of Special Investigations Special Agent Zoe Perez (Rosario Dawson). The unknown woman arranges Jerry’s escape and has him join up with single mother Rachel Holloman (Michelle Monaghan). Holloman is being coerced into helping by the woman, who threatens to kill her son, Sam, a trumpet player on his way to Washington, D.C. from Chicago for a band recital.

Final Destination is a 2000 horror film about a group of students who ‘cheat death’ by avoiding a plane crash when one has a premonition of their deaths, but soon after, they begin dying one by one in mysterious freak accidents.[1] The script was originally written by Jeffrey Reddick as a spec script for the X-Files. (Director James Wong worked as a writer, producer and director on that series.) The story has some interesting similarities with an episode of The Twilight Zone titled “Twenty-Two”. The film is distributed by New Line Cinema. The DVD was released on September 26, 2000.

Shortly after boarding a plane to go on a class trip to Paris, Alex Browning (played by Devon Sawa), has a vision that the Boeing 747 Volee Air Flight 180 is going to explode during takeoff. Alex tries to get off the plane, causing a commotion, and he, one of his teachers, and several other students get off the plane, having been either forcibly removed or voluntarily leaving to take care of Alex. Only moments later they witness the plane explode shortly after takeoff. While the survivors are initially relieved, their solace is short-lived, as Death comes after them to seal their fate.

Speed Racer (Emile Hirsch) is a young man with natural racing instincts whose goal is to win The Casa Cristo, a cross-country car racing rally that took the life of his older brother, Rex Racer (Scott Porter). Speed is loyal to the family business, run by his parents Pops (John Goodman) and Mom (Susan Sarandon). Pops designed Speed’s car, the Mach 5. The owner of Royalton Industries (Roger Allam) makes Speed a lucrative offer, but Speed rejects the offer, angering the owner. Speed also uncovers a secret that top corporate interests, including Royalton, are fixing races and cheating to gain profit. With the offer to Speed denied, Royalton wants to ensure that Speed will not win races. Speed finds support from his parents and his girlfriend Trixie (Christina Ricci) and enters The Crucible in a partnership with his one-time rival, Racer X (Matthew Fox), seeking to rescue his family’s business and the racing sport itself.

American Pie is a 1999 teen comedy film directed by Paul Weitz and Chris Weitz and written by Adam Herz. This was the first film directed by the Weitz brothers. The movie is centered on four boys who make a pact to lose their virginity by their high school graduation, and their subsequent adventures. The title refers to a scene in the film in which the lead character is caught having sex with a pieâ€”earlier he was told that “third base” feels “like warm apple pie”. It was a box-office hit and spawned two direct sequels: American Pie 2 in 2001, American Wedding in 2003. Singer Don McLean was credited for allowing the name of his hit song to be used as the title.

American Pie is the story of four Michigan high school seniors who make a pact to lose their virginity before graduation after a geeky classmate, Chuck Sherman (Chris Owen) claims to have done so at a party at Steve Stifler’s (Seann William Scott) house.

Kevin Myers (Thomas Ian Nicholas), the initiator of the pact, tries to repair his relationship with his girlfriend Vicki (Tara Reid) after she has a serious fight with him at the party. Chris “Oz” Ostreicher (Chris Klein), who is on the school lacrosse team with Stifler, joins the jazz choir to pick up girls, as the girls there know little of his insensitive jock reputation. Paul Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas), the mochaccino-drinking sophisticate, pays Vicki’s friend Jessica (Natasha Lyonne) $200 to spread rumors of his sexual prowess, hoping that will increase his chances of success.

Jim Levenstein (Jason Biggs) pursues Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth), an exchange student from what is referred to as Czechoslovakia. She comes to his house to study with him, and has to change clothes there after ballet practice, so Stifler convinces Jim to set up a webcam so they can all watch her change. Jim runs over to Kevin’s house to watch. Once he gets there, Nadia is seen on the computer discovering his pornography collection hiding in his dresser, and instead of finding it offensive, she begins looking through it while masturbating (this scene ranked #10 in the 100 Greatest Sexy Moments). Kevin urges Jim to run back home, saying this is his best opportunity. Jim arrives, and Nadia orders him to strip; meanwhile, it turns out that he had incorrectly addressed the e-mail to Kevin and Stifler, so instead of the link being sent to only his two friends, every mailbox in the school directory received the link; virtually the entire studentry is watching. As Jim slowly caresses her leg up to her genitals, he then climaxes prematurely. As Nadia is about to leave, he convinces her to stay, but upon seeing her full-frontally nude and touching her clean-shaven pubic area, he climaxes prematurely again, humiliating himself before the entire school. In desperation, Jim asks band geek Michelle Flaherty (Alyson Hannigan) to the senior prom, as she is apparently the only girl in the entire school who does not know what happened.
